IDL Paints THE X7 is a high-performance exterior painting system that offers:

• 3-year durability warranty (colour retention & film integrity)

• Up to 3-year anti-algal warranty

This warranty covers product performance against fading, flaking, peeling, and also protects against blistering, splitting, tearing, and excessive weathering of the paint film. With proper application and care, your home will continue to look brighter and newer year after year.

Scope of Warranty Coverage

The warranty covers only manufacturing defects in IDL Paints THE X7 Exterior Emulsion and applies strictly to product performance.

The warranty does not cover defects arising due to factors beyond the control of the company, including but not limited to:

• Structural defects in the building

• Moss, algae, or vegetative growth

• Excessive bird droppings or spitting

• Damage caused by ants, insects, or pests

• Water leakage, seepage, or continuous dampness

• Staining caused by plant pots

• Natural calamities such as earthquakes, cyclones, floods, etc.

• Defects in the substrate or previous coating

• Vandalism or Acts of God

• Abuse, misuse, or negligence by the customer

• Improper surface preparation

• Application on contaminated or non-dry surfaces

• Normal wear and tear

• Contractor or painter errors or omissions

• Any cause other than defects in IDL Paints THE X7 Exterior Emulsion

Application Guidelines (Warranty Validity Conditions)

The warranty shall apply only if the following application guidelines have been strictly followed:

• Surface preparation and application are carried out as per IDL Paints THE X7 instructions

• Application follows the product information sheet

• Product is applied only on vertical exterior masonry wall surfaces

• Recommended undercoat of IDL Paints Multipurpose Cement Primer is applied at specified coverage

• Topcoat is applied at the specified coverage rate

• Cracks up to 3 mm are sealed using appropriate Crack Seal before undercoat application

• No vertical surface is left uncoated due to accessibility issues

Company Liability

IDL Paints shall be liable only for the following:

• Replacement cost of paint and labour required to rectify the paint failure area

• Labour rate shall be determined by the company based on prevailing market rates

• Labour may be calculated per sq. ft. or daily wage basis

• The customer shall bear any additional costs not covered under this warranty

The company shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses or damages

• Any claims beyond those expressly stated in this warranty

The company’s liability shall reduce progressively over the warranty period as per the reducing liability matrix.

Warranty Claims Procedure

• Claims must be raised within 30 days of noticing the defect

• Customer must notify IDL Paints in writing with complete details

• The company reserves the right to inspect the surface and application process

• Inspection may be conducted by IDL Paints or an authorized representative

• No repairs or alterations shall be carried out before inspection

• IDL Paints will make reasonable efforts to supply paint for repairs but is not liable for delays

Company Rights

IDL Paints reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:

• Supervise or control repainting as per its specifications

• Appoint or approve contractors engaged for repair work

Events Where Warranty Becomes Void

The warranty shall be null and void under the following circumstances:

• Water dripping from vegetation, AC units, or plant pots

• Rising dampness or capillary water penetration

• Algae or fungal growth on non-masonry surfaces

• Poor housekeeping of terrace/roof causing water stagnation

• Inadequate building design, drainage, roofing defects, or settlement

• Water seepage through ducts, drains, or inaccessible uncoated areas

• Exposure to chemicals, solvents, oils, or harmful substances

• Structural modifications, extensions, or alterations after painting

• Mechanical damage or puncturing of the paint film

• Removal, excavation, or replacement of underlying materials

• Additional installations or flashing inconsistent with original application

• Failure of plaster, putty, or texture coat beneath the paint film

• Leakage from adjacent uncoated surfaces connected to painted structures

Miscellaneous

• This warranty disclaims all liabilities including negligence or strict liability

• No implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for purpose apply

• All disputes shall first be resolved through mediation

• Jurisdiction shall be limited to the courts of Kerala, India

• All dispute-related information shall remain confidential
